'De Baron en zijn marionetten' is a publication of Mu.ZEE, the Museum of Fine Arts and Modern Art in Ostend. It's a children's book based upon James Ensor's ballet 'La Gamme d'Amour'.

Ensor (1860-1949) was a Belgian painter, who lived in Ostend for almost his entire life. The book was originally meant to accompany a large exhibition presenting James Ensor, but evolved in a standalone publication. I gave the story of the ballet a twist, and I included Ensor in it. Claudine Hellweg found the matching words to tell the story, while I did the graphic design and the illustrations.
