Het Kleine Zwarte Visje (The Little Black Fish) is a well known Iranian children's book (i guess it's more well known over there than it is here) written by Samad Behrangi in 1968. It has now been translated by Ann De Craemer, a journalist who knows Iran inside-out.
The story is about a young fish who wants to leave his secure, but dull home, and wants to discover the world. But unlike its Pixar-descendant, it is also a political allegory and a critique on the Shah-regime of that time. The book is published in Dutch for the first time, by Lannoo.
