bon moves  Mon 08 Mar 2010
I made these postcards for 'bon', the Brussels integration service. They asked me to do a postcard, stickers and a short animation to put on their site, to announce that they are relocating.
I did the illustration and design and Ben Verschooris used his magic to make it into a nice and funny animation :-)

tshirts coming soon!  Mon 08 Mar 2010
I was contacted by 'Advanced Minority', an Austrian t-shirt brand/gallery with stores in Austria, Germany, France, Prague and New York. They saw my work and wanted to print a tshirt with the 'Does my ass look big in this' illustration. Of course i said yes :-)
I was also mentioned in an Austrian magazine, called 'the gap', which featured the new tshirt designs from Advanced Minority. In a couple of days, i will get some tshirts and they will be sold online and in their stores. I'll definitely post some photographs when the tees get here!

De Leeswelp/VIC - Goed Voor Druk  Sun 21 Feb 2010
A few weeks ago, I was one of the three winners of the first edition of an annual competition for young Belgian illustrators. The competition is called 'Goed Voor Druk', it's an initiative by 'De Leeswelp', the only Flemish magazine which concentrates solely on youth and children's literature and the 'VIC', the Flemish Illustrators Club.

The jury, consisting of Chris Bulcaen, Sabien Clement, Jen de Groeve, Koen Sels and Klaas Verplancke, chose my work alongside of that of Karolien Vanderstappen and Trui Chielens. We all get published in 'De Leeswelp', (see photo below, I was the lucky one to get the first publication, in the February edition) and on the VIC-website. I'm happily surprised :-)

Ensor book  Tue 16 Feb 2010
'De Baron en zijn marionetten, een kleine ouverture bij James Ensor'

This publication was requested by Mu.ZEE, the Museum of Fine Arts and Modern Art in Ostend. It's a children's book based upon James Ensor's ballet 'La Gamme d'Amour'.

Ensor (1860-1949) was a Belgian painter, who lived in Ostend for almost his entire life. The book was originally meant to accompany a large exhibition presenting James Ensor, but evolved in a standalone publication. I gave the story of the ballet a twist, and I included Ensor in it. Claudine Hellweg found the matching words to tell the story, while I did the graphic design and the illustrations.

You can see more photos and illustrations from the book by clicking here

Ei Magazine  Sat 06 Feb 2010
Here's a small illustration for a new Amsterdam-based magazine called 'Ei'.
It accompanies a beautiful short story about a boy called Japie, who has bad dreams. Everyday he takes his notebook and he writes down the date and two words that summarize the dream. One day, his mother tells him to go see the doctor so he can cure the boy from his dreams.
I won't tell the end, but here's Japie in the doctor's waiting room, with his notebook sticking out of his pocket and his dreams lingering over his head. Oh, and I got to do the cover for the magazine too, I will upload a picture when the magazine is printed.
